Fossil Bones
Marble & Stone Carvings by Paul Devon Young
Fossil Bones is a sculptural series carved in marble and natural stone, exploring the fragility of form, memory, and transformation. These works draw from anatomical studies—both human and animal—capturing what remains after decay, erosion, and time have reshaped the original structure.
Each piece reflects a transition:
From living form to fossil, from identity to echo, from bone to stone.
The series invites reflection on the physical and symbolic remnants we leave behind—what survives, what is lost, and what is reimagined through geological time.
"Fossil Bones is less about death, more about what continues to speak from the silence of what once was."
